Is It Finally Time To Get Your Air Ducts Cleaned?

Updated: Dec 19, 2020

Air ducts are pretty much common in houses with any kind of cooling or heating system. These air ducts move the air around the house, and help bring the temperature to the desired level. When there is an inefficiency in these air temperature control systems, more often than not, it’s because the air ducts have been clogged with dust, dirt, and dead skin.

This is what happens if you don’t get your air ducts cleaned:

The air ducts continue to collect dust, and over time these dust and dirt particles begin to build up over the passage of air, and block it from flowing properly through the system. Since these ducts are lined by dust, it could also mean that the air that flows inside your home may not be as healthy as you think.

How often should you clean them?

Air duct cleaning doesn’t need to be done very often. Having a professional clean the system every 3-5 years can be more than enough, but it can also depend on the place you live in. For example, air pollution in San Diego is much more than in New York, and hence the frequency of San Diego Air Duct Cleaning is more. You might also need to clean your ducts when you notice that you experience any kind of  allergy when you switch on the heating/cooling system.

Is air duct cleaning expensive?

It depends on a number of factors like the number of ducts, the length of the duct, the type of system used in the house, how easy it is to access the ducts, and how much dust has been collected in the duct. The place you rest in also plays a major role in the cost of cleaning. The cost of San Diego Air Duct Cleaning service ranges between 250 - 450 $ whereas New York Air Duct Cleaning service  ranges between 300 - 500$.

At the end, it is upto you to decide whether or not you want to get your air ducts cleaned, but if you do decide to do it, what’s more important is that you choose a professional to do it for you.
